Capcom Japan have reacted angrily over rumours of "dumbing down" Resident Evil 4 for use on the PS2.
After the rumours of polygon counts Capcom have reacted immediately. The rumours stemmed from a Japanese magazine who claimed Leon would only have 5,000 polygons compared to the GameCubes 10,00. Also the villagers would only have 4,000 polygons (the same amount as Snake in Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater). GC World was reprimanded along with the Japanese magazine.
However, Capcom over the weekend moved to quash these rumours, declaring them false. The Japanese firm also went as far to state that the source magazine had never even been given access to Resident Evil 4 PS2, much less carry out a detailed review.
